This paper describes a new solution of an incremental, single-robot based sheet forming process with tool path calculation and thickness measurement approaches, for the production of sheet metal and thermoplastic components for prototypes and small series. As an alternative to conventional stamping and deep drawing processes which are based on big and costly dies and presses, the shaping system is based on robotized Incremental Sheet Forming (ISF), a new, clean and affordable process.
