Conventional synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems use wideband transmitted waveforms to obtain high range resolution images. Doppler-SAR [1, 2] or ultra-narrowband continuous waveform (CW) SAR uses ultra-narrowband transmitted waveforms and obtains high resolution by back projecting onto iso-Doppler contours. This paper describes the conceptual differences in understanding the difference in the resolution of wideband and Doppler-SAR images, and presents the resolution of Doppler-backprojection images when TerraSAR-X imaging parameters are used.
