Inhalt:
This paper describes the simultaneous monostatic and bistatic experiment conducted by Fraunhofer FHR in fall 2013. The experiment involves the Transall aircraft equipped with the multi-channel system PAMIR, and a stationary transmitter. Both systems transmit simultaneously on adjacent frequency bands, and PAMIR receives both its monostatic echoes and the bistatic returns. Geometrical diversity between the monostatic and the bistatic data takes enhances moving target detection capabilities. Moreover, for movers detected by both systems, an estimation of the target velocity vector (i.e. of the two velocity components on ground) can be performed. This allows a correct focusing of moving targets in the monostatic SAR image.
