Inhalt:
This paper presents a study to reduce torque ripple of three-phase and two-phase permanent magnet transverse flux machines. The compensation is realised by feed-forward control of harmonic signals as set-points for current control. This compensation method generates non-sinusoidal current waveforms, leading to a smoother torque. By improving the performance this approach allows to use transvers flux machines for direct drive applications, requiring high torque density at low speeds with a high level of efficiency. The proposed approach is validated by experimental results using two transverse flux machines (TFM).
