A novel spaceborne SAR GMTI mode which is called Scan-GMTI mode is proposed in this paper. Since the moving targets can be observed many times in a long time, the Scan-GMTI mode can realize scan imaging and moving targets tracking at the same time. In this paper, the steering observation geometry of the Scan-GMTI mode is analyzed and some important parameters are calculated. Then, the GMTI performance is analyzed and the system designing chain is presented. Finally, the processing strategy is applied for a simulated spaceborne GMTI SAR.
