This paper focuses on the challenge of modelling a cyber–physical approach in construction domain. Current cutting-edge technologies especially in Automated Data Collection (ADC) and Building Information Modelling (BIM) can facilitate the integration of physical construction fields into virtual information models, therefore the entire digitalization of construction processes are possible. However, this need an adequate method that allows bi-directional coordination and integration between the virtual construction models “BIM onsite” and the construction field processes. The proposed solution recognizes two key levels of integration to meet these requirements; (1) linking construction physical objects to their digital product models using RFID, and (2) coupling the physical objects to their temporary location using positioning system on one hand, next these objects have to associate with a predefined construction site layout model based on enrichment site spatial entities. The results are objects at a level of “smartness” with enhanced digital capabilities and ability of context-aware data design, integration and tailoring. Here, a cyber physical framework is introduced to close the information loop and to create bidirectional data flow. Subsequently, it allows a continuous monitoring, updating and control construction processes. Finally, an application scenario is proposed to integrate of the continuous real data “input” for supporting process based simulation method during project construction.
