This paper presents a metadata framework to facilitate attribute enabled programming (AEP) style for industrial robotic applications. Borrowed heavily from the similar construction in C# and Java, the proposed metadata framework includes a metadata syntax specification, a metadata access API, and a toolchain that customizes the user experience based on the metadata during the life span of a robotic application.
