The increasing amount of volatile distributed generation (DG) has become a great challenge for transmission and distribution system operators. Due to their small capacity most of the DG sources are connected to low and medium voltage levels which are not fully observable. Since measurement devices are sparsely spread in distribution networks, centralized control methods, requiring measurement data from each node, are not able to control these power systems. Introduction of decentralized control methods allows to overcome the limitations associated with centralized control, like failure of main controller. In the frame of this paper a concept of voltage control using multi-agent system is presented. Voltage control in this approach is realised by reactive power provisioning. Simulation results show that the proposed approach is able to maintain stability of power system on a regional scale.
