Inhalt:
This paper focuses on partial discharge localization on power transformers using calculated transfer function of winding sections based on design information. The simulation of windings through multi conductor transmission line method has been performed for an actual distribution transformer in the laboratory based on measurement and design information. The calculated transfer functions were used for processing PD signals that have been measured on a sample transformer, which has been modified in order to inject partial discharge pulses into different points of the winding. Hereby the partial discharge measurements comprises corona, discharges in voids and surface discharges. The simulated and complementary measured results will be presented and discussed comprehensively in this paper.
