Semiconductor solution trends for embedded control of small drives

Applications integrating small motor drives do face increased requirements in terms of hardware and software. This paper evaluates the current status of semiconductor technology in the area of “Embedded Motor Control” by setting a focus onto the requirements for small motors in automotive actuators. A potential solution will show at the end, how these requirements can be flexibly realized. Finally the advanced development with a view to performance and cost reduction is given.
