Inhalt:
This paper presents an optimization method for salient-pole synchronous machines with the objective to find a machine design which provides the highest efficiency possible aligned with high breakdown torque and low field current. To achieve high accuracy an iterative analytical calculation tool is used which requires the use of heuristic optimization algorithms. Therefore, a bounded simulated annealing algorithm combined with penalty functions for the constraints is applied. In order to reduce variability of the input vector for the simulated annealing algorithm relations between machine parameters and requirements are utilized. On the base of a stepwise calculation of the downsized solution space the functionality of the presented method is discussed and verified. Finally the analytical results of the machine design determined through the optimization method are analyzed using finite element methods.
