Integrated miniature torque sensing device for gearboxes

Using miniature drive systems in more and more complex and undefined environment conditions shows the need of torque-feedback, especially in the combination with precision-gearheads. The following predevelopment study integrates a torque sensing device in a standard miniature-gearhead with the goal to stay as compact as possible. After a concept and design-phase functional prototypes were manufactured and their properties were characterized.
