In-situ measurement of conducted current signals on the high voltage lines of electric vehicle considering the influence of the measuring system on the noise characteristics

In general, it is a quite challenging task to detect the conducted noise currents on the high voltage lines of electric vehicles because of its shielding. This shield requires special equipment to be able to measure the signals. Unfortunately, the usage of this equipment comes along with hardly known disturbance in the signal characteristic, what leads to inaccurate measuring results. The measurement system, which is developed in this paper, describes a possibility to measure the conducted current noise with a known influence on the system. For the first time, in fields of electromagnetic compatibility, a PCB-Rogowski-Coil is applied to measure noise current on high voltage lines in electric vehicles. To bypass the shielding of the system around the PCB-Rogowski-Coil, a special housing was designed, which is characterized by its compact and modular construction. By this means, it is possible to measure the current noise signal on high voltage lines over a wide frequency range with a high sensitivity. The influence on the noise characteristic is analyzed with its stray parameters and practically on a component test set-up. Due to this investigation, it is possible to discuss the measured signals and improve the accuracy of the measurement result for the current noise on high voltage lines in electric vehicle. Finally, current signals on the high voltage line of an electric vehicle are measured and discussed with the introduced measurement system.
