Inhalt:
During this research project, a complete production logistics system has been developed. A mobile robot is able to deliver standardized small load carriers (plastic totes) usually used in a Kanban system to decentralized storage racks. In order to ensure a robust implementation, a 3D Vision System has supported the automated handling process. The modular programming concept allows an easy adaptation to different requirements and tasks. The combination of a Warehouse Management and Control System in addition with the usage of State-of-The-Art communication mechanism delivers a slim and customized solution. This presented approach is able to replace the traditional manually operated milk run trains, thus further eliminating cost intensive labor.
