Inhalt:
Hahn-Schickard and the iba Heiligenstadt developed a microfluidic App for separation and purification of target cells from whole blood. Starting from a sample of 2 ml the processing includes plasma separation, density gradient centrifugation and cell separation. All steps are implemented on one centrifugal microfluidic LabDisk that can be processed in a commercial centrifuge. In proof-of-concept experiments the system recovered 90 % of a lymphatic cancer cell type (KG-1) spiked into the sample within 1 h.
