The next generation vehicles will all be driven by high-performance computers. Developing these ECUs requires a lot of effort and expertise. Doing such a development multiple times should be avoided due to economic reasons as well as time to market. Leveraging synergies between multiple car lines of a big OEM or with the industry is the key to keep costs low. This can be simplified by using an HPC software stack that provides the basis for all HPC projects at an OEM or Tier 1. This software stack provides all non-differentiating software packages in a pre-integrated platform. Using such a stack frees resources that can be put into developing differentiating features and bring more customers to an OEM.
