Inhalt:
The determination of the electrical supply task is a fundamental step in energy system models. Due to increasing dependencies between the electricity and the heating and cooling sectors, an adequate representation of these is desirable. Thermal building simulation is a suitable method to consider the heating and cooling sector with higher detail than standard load profile approaches in energy system models. This paper presents an approach that relies on few input parameters and allows simple parametrization of thermal equivalent-circuits. Performance is demonstrated by applying the model to the residential building stock of Germany to derive electric load profiles of heating and cooling systems. Furthermore, the model is applied to the trade and commerce sector to derive normalized load profiles for given specific annual heating and cooling demands. Subsequently, historical climate data is incorporated to demonstrate functionality. Results show good matching with reported historical values.
