Inhalt:
Due to the increasing feed-in of electrical power by renewable energy plants and the simultaneously advancing gradual shutdown of conventional coal-fired power plants, the requirements for a reliable, cost-effective and climate-friendly provision of flexibilities to maintain system stability are increasing. With the overall system view of the electricity and gas sector, new degrees of freedom can be accessed through coupling. This paper presents how a cross-sectoral provision of ancillary services in coupled electricity and gas sector can be represented in a dynamic energy system model in the time domain of the mean time dynamics in second-by-second resolution. Based on numerical case studies, it is evaluated for different scenarios using the example of Thuringia, to what extent flexibility potentials can be realized and the operating limits and thus the stability conditions of both sectors can be maintained by a cross-sectoral consideration.
