Inhalt:
We present an overview of the state of the art of trapped-ion quantum computing with microfabricated ion traps at Infineon Technologies Austria and the University of Innsbruck. First, we give a general introduction to the field and to the most important physical concepts behind ion trapping. After a short summary of the main aspects of our current ion trap technology, details on the experiments ongoing at the University of Innsbruck are discussed. We conclude with an outlook on our next steps for quantum computing with microstructured ion traps.
