Inhalt:
Magnetic linear and rotary encoders are widely preferred for position measurement in industrial applications where high robustness and low total cost is relevant. Today magnetic encoder technology has advanced to the point that it can challenge general-purpose optical scale encoders. Sensing elements based on Hall, AMR or GMR effect are used since years to meet the requirements of industrial automation. This paper refers to the new field of quantum sensing with respect to the specific application of position measurement. A newly designed quantum sensing element was designed, built and tested in an application orientated setup.
