The main topic of this paper is the modeling of a magnetic field probe by using coils and a near field source approach in CST MWS. We first explain an older field probe model where we used discrete field probes to model the coils of the magnetic probe. Then the basic theory of the field probe model will be explained and it will be validated for homogeneous and inhomogeneous magnetic fields. After the validation we will use a near field source approach to split the model into two parts. Finally we will show how we can use CST MWS to find the probe orientation which leads to the biggest value of B.
