There are ongoing research activities on 5th and 6th generation mobile networks. Emerging technologies, such as Software Defined Networks, Artificial Intelligence or Blockchain, and human-centric networking requirements are becoming essential for future developments. A relatively new term is the so-called Special Purpose Networks, which are considered very promising 5G/6G subnets for different use cases, for example, in Body Area Networks. This publication presents an overview of current research activities within the field of 5G/6G. It also highlights the need for specialized networks in the context of these mobile networks and outlines existing limitations. Furthermore, this publication introduces a novel conceptional outline of future Special Purpose Networks in the 5G/6G network with special consideration of Body Area Networks for eHealth applications. The proposed structure and considerations can also be transferred to other application areas. Overall, this publication serves as an outlook for future scenarios in 5G and 6G communications.
