The Anticipated Cooperative Collision Avoidance (ACCA) use case is one example of a Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) service that requires precise and reliable vehicle localization service. This enables analytic services in the cloud that can track the end of traffic jams in real-time and provide accurate warnings to vehicles. The H2020 5GCroCo project trials 5G technologies in the European cross-border corridor along France, Germany and Luxembourg and has evaluated 3GPP-based GNSS-RTK for precise positioning in a highway scenario. The results indicate very good performance with stable cm-level accuracy.
