Inhalt:
As part of the SAMOA-Net (Spatial Multiplexing in Optical Access Networks) project funded by the German federal government, we are working on new SDM-PON concepts and architectures for optical access systems. In this paper, we introduce the SDM-PON concept and compare it to traditional approaches, and we present and discuss two promising architectures.
