Inhalt:
The transmission system operators face new challenges due to the energy transition. The number of synchronous generators in the power grid decreases, and they will be replaced by renewable energy sources over time. One of the perspective methods for the power grid operation in converter-dominated grids is the power grid operation with voltage angle control. This method requires the use of phasor measurements and communication technology. This paper presents a concept for using theWide Area Monitoring System for power grid operation with voltage angle control. The simulation is performed in a real-time simulator. The study case is carried out in the modified 39-bus New England system.
