The role of distribution grids is growing, which is also reflected in new regulations. A future distribution grid will comprise an increasing number of renewable energy systems (solar panels, wind turbines), as well as other power-related components potentially acting as prosumers (electric vehicle charging, battery energy storage systems). This increases the volatility both on the consumer- and the producer sides and makes coordinating the two more complex, simultaneously increasing the importance of the distribution system operator. In this work, a two-stage approach for resolving congestions in distribution grids is presented, that involves both grid internal measures and redispatch of distributed generation units.
