Inhalt:
To operate a future decarbonised energy supply system in a stable manner, the gas and heat sectors must be included in addition to the reliable supply of electricity to customers. At the latest since the rising electricity prices and gas prices in Europe, efforts are being made to reduce dependence on natural gas. As a result, the green production and distribution of hydrogen in the gas sector is gaining in importance. In the consultation paper on the Gas Network Development Plan 2020-2030, the transmission system operators in Germany have proposed an extreme expansion of the hydrogen infra-structure. This paper presents how the modelling of a hydrogen network can be implemented for the dynamic simulation of a sector-coupled energy system. By means of numerical case studies, it is evaluated for different scenarios using the example of a region in Germany, to what extent a hydrogen-powered infrastructure results in different requirements and operating limits for stable system operation.
