In this paper, we present a design optimization model for residential cross-sectoral energy systems that include generation and storage technologies as well as a charging infrastructure for electric vehicles (EV). Utilizing an integrated consideration of the electricity, heat and mobility sectors, the energy supply of a residential district can be designed more efficiently. Charging stations (CS) of different types concerning power and availability (public or private) are considered additionally to cover the residents’ mobility demand. We also identify permissible simplifications to get a suitable objective function and restrictions for the mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) optimization. To enable calculations of the optimal design in any residential district, the deduced model is implemented with a modular structure. In a case study of a reference district, we demonstrate the feasibility and performance of the developed optimization model.
