              This paper investigates a combined star-δ winding for a synchronous reluctance motor. Finite Element Analysis shows that with this winding d- and q-axes inductances increase, which leads to a higher torque density and offers different possibilities to reduce losses. A measurement technique for loss separation to verify the theoretical findings is discussed and corresponding results are shown.
