Inhalt:
In this paper, we propose the use of a coil pair in a quasi-Helmholtz configuration for wireless power transfer applications when the receiver is free to travel along the axis of the pair. We analyzed the optimal distance between the transmitter coils when the travel distance is multiple times the diameter of the coils, proposing a trade-off between coupling factor stability and covered volume. For this analysis, we performed simulations and verified them experimentally. Additionally, to prove the application in a wireless power transfer system, we designed and implemented a circuit with the basic elements to demonstrate the working principle when the receiver is not in a fixed position.
