              In this paper, we present a simple algorithm for excess delay estimation using power delay profiles in vehicular communication scenarios. A correlation-based approach is used to identify the relevant components in a power delay profile. The algorithm is validated with real-world results from an extensive vehicular measurement campaign. The results from excess delay estimation are used to analyze the discrepancy between a GNSS distance-based approach and the presented algorithm. Finally, an extension of the algorithm is given to improve the results in highly dynamic scenarios.
