We propose a novel 100G pre-amplified self-coherent PON (SC-PON) architecture and experimentally demonstrate the first 25-Gbaud 16-QAM SVDD SC-PON using a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). We achieve 33.6-dB budget for the downstream transmission over a 20-km SMF.
