Head Mounted Display Technology for Mobile Interactive Applications

Mobile computing is becoming more and more important. Many applications in all fields require small and wearable computing equipment and accessories. One of the major accessories of a mobile computing system is the display. State-of-the-art mini-displays like in PDAs or cell-phones suffer from the limited field of view and the limited resolution. A possible solution is the use of a Head Mounted Display (HMD) that in addition allows for hands-free operation. Here we present our recent research results in the development of such displays for use in mobile interactive applications.
