Inhalt:
Very few of today’s applications and application scenarios of ubiquitous computing and wearable computing are highly convincing and employed in real-world settings. With respect to that, this paper describes the design and implementation of a wearable sensing system to be used for professional downhill skiing. This system allows to better analyze an athlete’s motions and share those findings among trainer and athlete allowing more focussed training sessions. The system is evaluated by an initial 'self-test' and later discussing those result in cooperation with four professional skiing trainers. The findings from those evaluation sessions provide the guidelines for upcoming refinements and developments for introducing such a system in practice.
