Decorrelation and Power Allocation Based Precoding for Transmit Correlated V-BLAST Systems

Bell Lab vertical layered Space-Time architecture (V-BLAST) is an approach for exploiting high MIMO channel capacity. A power allocation algorithm has been proposed to improve bit error rate performance when using ordering successive interference cancellation (OSIC) detection. However, the BER performance of proposed power allocation algorithm degrades greatly with the increase of transmit antenna correlation. In this paper, we proposed a closed-loop precoding algorithm based on OSIC detection. Our proposed precoding algorithm combines decorrelation with power allocation algorithm to improve the BER performance of transmit correlated V-BLAST systems. Computer simulations demonstrated that our proposed precoding method has better performance than mere power allocation algorithm.
