This paper shows how we can use a chirp z-transform based algorithm combined with synthetic bandwidth approach to achieve high resolution airborne SAR imaging both in basal receive and deramp receive mode. In order to accommodate required high resolution, a refined chirp z-transform based algorithm is proposed by modifying range independent range cell migration correction (RIRCMC) factor. In addition to computational efficiency, the processing schemes have the advantages of the high accurate RIRCMC. Combined synthetic bandwidth technique limiting the instantaneous bandwidth and required sample rate, it offers the possibility of processing X-band airborne SAR data up to 1 dm resolution. Finally, results obtained on simulated data validate the proposed processing algorithm.
