This paper describes continued work in the use of the Canadian boreal forest as a secondary site for monitoring of radiometric calibration of the RADARSAT-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sensor. In mid 2002, a survey of natural sites within data reception mask of Canadian ground stations was made, from which an area within the Canadian boreal forest was retained for a more comprehensive study. Antenna elevation beam pattern measurements covering the entire incidence angle range of RADARSAT-1 were performed. Analysis methodology was similar to the existing approach used with the primary calibration site in Amazon.
