Inhalt:
The aim of this paper is to present our first studies about extraction of 3D information from radar images. Several radargrammetric methods allow DEM (Digital Elevation Model) generation from SAR images: clinometry, stereoscopy, interferometry and polarimetry. The main idea is to use simulation results considering incidence angles and backscattered signals that provide SAR images in order to build a DEM generation tool. The matching operation between two SAR images is a crucial stage because it determines the accuracy of the extracted elevation. The first results are in agreement with developed theory, so we make evolve the matching algorithm in order to work on real SAR images. Further developments deal with radar images particularities as shadow, layover and speckle, as well as the adoption of a hierarchical strategy to save processing time.
