Network Composition is a concept for dynamic interworking of heterogeneous networks, particularly on the control plane. Work on Network Composition was started in the 6th Framework Programme (FP) EU Project "Ambient Networks". It has now progressed to a Feasibility Study for the evolution of the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) in the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP).
