Enhancing SWITCHaai with Micropayment Functionality for Swiss Universities

In the past, many Swiss universities have deployed SWITCHaai, the Shibboleth based infrastructure for authentication and authorization. This white paper extends the concept of Shibboleth by adding (micro-)payment functionality. It shows how the proposed payment infrastructure could settle the usage of services provided by other organizations and how it could be integrated with existing local payment solutions based on electronic student card authentication.
