Optoi is developing new projects regarding smart sensors for Home and Building Automation. The particular interest in wireless protocols has brought the company to be ready with its first product line at 2.4GHz. Optoi WSN consists in two 802.15.4 standard compliant 2.4GHz elements, which can build a wireless sensor network. The Z-slave element is able to communicate its sensor’s values to the master. Zslave is a RFD (reduced function device) stand alone. Any RFD can be connected to a coordinator to build a star network. Each network needs at least one coordinator as a controller (i.e. Z-master) and it can reach up to 20 points. In order to extend the network, more coordinators can be connected to each other in Modbus standard (the coordinators become slaves in Modbus protocol, a master Modbus is needed like an industrial PC for example).
