The transient stability analysis for the offsite power system of nuclear power plant should meet the criteria of the relevant standard. The stability analysis result is included in Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR). Shinkori unit 1 started a commercial operation in 2011, and Shinkori unit 2 will follow in 2012. Because of the delayed construction of 765kV transmission lines for these units, Shinkori units 1 and 2 should share the switchyard of Kori units 3 and 4 for temporary power transmission. Due to complexity caused by absence of 765kV transmission lines, Current Limit Reactor (CLR) is considered for reducing fault current. This paper verified the following 6 cases such as Peak/Off-peak load; Connection/Disconnection of switchyard bus-bar; With/Without CLR on the stability study of Shinkori NPPs in 2012. As a result, the transient stability in peak load condition is more stable than that in off-peak load condition; the transient stability with bus-bar disconnected is more stable than that with bus-bar connected; the transient stability with CLR is more stable than that without CLR.
