Inhalt:
The following publication explains the steps made for a fault-tolerant drive system design, based on a transverse flux reluctance machine and new converter topologies suited to the motor. Phase number selection based on fast calculations and simulations in Matlab environment using data obtained from finite element analysis is described. The proposed converter configurations are then analyzed, and their advantages and disadvantages are briefly discussed. Dual voltage level topologies are thereupon proposed in order to maximize the drive performance at a minimum number of switches.
