Inhalt:
Characterising the difference between turbulence frequencies is important for investigating the effects of turbulence frequency on the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of wind turbines. Because a turbulent wind contains many components with different frequencies, turbulence frequency could not be directly compared. Hence, a method for comparing turbulence frequencies is proposed, in which the ratio of mean power distributed in the frequency band obtained by the power spectrum density curve is defined as frequency index. Based on the proposed method, the variation of turbulence frequency and its effects on the MPPT performance are verified by simulations on the generated and measured turbulences.
