Inhalt:
Recent studies show that in the power range from 100 kW to 10 MW the multi-phase chopper technology is the best solution for high-current variable-voltage rectifiers. A modular system concept for this kind of rectifier systems is introduced in this paper to enable engineering and manufacturing cost minimization, while reserving the design freedom for efficiency optimization. For the task of efficiency optimization (for various customized specification) a computer-aided optimization tool is developed. This tool is verified by measurements and applied in customized rectifier design and optimization.
