Inhalt:
An adjustable electronic load with energy recovery is required for the development and the characterization of high power medium-frequency (MF) inverters. Therefore, in this work we present a DC-DC-converter operating as an electronic load that can handle up to 20 kW of input-power at frequencies over 2.5 MHz. The input resistance can be varied between 5 and 40 Ω. We implemented energy recovery in order to minimize the energy consumption during long term testing of new MF-inverters. The supplied AC-power is fed back into the DC-link of the MF-inverter. To achieve efficiencies over 97 % at high power densities, exclusively SiC devices are utilized.
