Inhalt:
The paper describes a modular, power electronics building block based on GE’s industry-leading SiC MOSFET technology and vertically integrated design approach to achieve maximum performance in power applications ranging from solar, wind and HEV/EV to Industrial and Traction drive applications. This plug-and-play unit enables customers to launch high-performance products more quickly, and at lower cost versus conventional design approaches. The Power block is comprised of low-inductance SiC modules with high performance gate drives, optimized bus bar with DC capacitors, air or liquid-cooled thermal management, sensors feeding low-level controls and protection, a standardized control interface, and connectivity to GE’s Predix engine for data analytics. It uses a simple, twolevel topology capable of switching up to 40kHz with a DC link voltage up to 1500V.
