Inductive Power Transfer (IPT) for advanced power distribution system offering significant benefits in modern automation systems. Important research has been done over last two decades in the development of efficient electric vehicles (EV) charging methods. One of the main problems for the mass bring EVs is into use is how far can drive on a single charge and the battery charging duration. This paper deals with the design, development and real tests of 35 kW inductive charging station for EVs. Attention is paid to develop a uniform IPT module for high-power transferring which has to implement two modes of charge- static when EV is stationary and dynamic when the EV is moving. Dynamic charging increasing the travel range of an EV and decrease price and weight of the battery. Additionally, several major aspects were discussed - high peak power transfer capability with high efficiency, realization of battery charging via primary converter control algorithm and last but not least - implementation of the system in real urban environment.
