Inhalt:
This paper presents a highly integrated inverter with a high power density based on silicon carbide semiconductors to reduce volume and weight of high voltage generators used in industrial or medical applications. The designed full-bridge resonant converter operates at frequencies above 500 kHz and a maximum output power of 80 kW. The combination of high frequency operation resulting in smaller resonant elements and the concept to use the insulating liquid in the HV-tank for cooling purposes by specially developed low inductance ceramic power modules is the key element for reducing weight and volume of the inverter to enable a very high integration.
