A newly developed power module for inverter driving air-conditioner of electric vehicle and hybrid electric vehicle is presented in this paper. By using the optimized wafer manufacturing process and assembly process, the new power module enables the package size to shrink as it dramatically reduces the mounting space in comparison with conventional product configuration. The ratings is 30A/600V for 2.2kW class motor drive, nevertheless, the package size is 38.0 × 24.0 mm.
